QUALITY WINES

Amarone, Valpolicella Ripasso, Recioto, Valpolicella Classico and Privilegia are quality wines, produced in accordance with tradition with innovative winemaking techniques. Aging in oak barrels, which are personally purchased in the production territory, then helps to emphasize the aromatic profile of already well-structured and fragrant wines, unique and specific to each
Valpolicella winery.

VALPOLICELLA

From Retico, to Acinatico, worthy ancestors of today’s Recioto and Amarone, the wines of Valpolicella have always been generous protagonists at the table, as generous as the land from which they originate. A land with a mild and temperate climate, rolling hills verdant with vegetation, geometrically designed by rows of vines, made even more fertile by the
the rich alluvial soil

amarone

VALPOLICELLA DOCG CLASSICO
Great meditation red wine, exciting even uncorked 15 years after harvest. It is made from typical Valpolicella grapes-Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella-and a small percentage of Croatina, grown in our vineyards located in the hills of Marano, at an altitude of 350 meters.
The vines are trained according to the traditional Veronese pergola and are between 10 and 30 years old. The specificity of Amarone lies in the 90 days long drying of the grapes before pressing, which allows it to stand the long aging and provides the unmistakable flavour profile with full, warm, velvety notes and hints of ripe fruit and woodland undergrowth.

amarone riserva

VALPOLICELLA DOCG CLASSICO
Only Amarone from the best vintages is bottled in the Riserva version: the next one for sale, which we are slowly refining, will be 2012. recioto

VALPOLICELLA DOCG CLASSICO
Great sweet red wine of Veronese tradition, offered to guests on life’s important occasions-weddings, births, visits-perhaps in the company of a slice of chocolate cake or a tart. Like Amarone, it is made from the typical grapes of Valpolicella – Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella – and a small percentage of Croatina, grown in our vineyards located in the hills of Marano, at an altitude of 350 meters. The vines are trained with the traditional Veronese pergola and are between 10 and 30 years old.
As with the production of Amarone, the grapes for Recioto are dried before pressing and in this case for 100 days, so until February, to then obtain wines that can preserve the oreganoleptic characteristics for up to 15 years after harvest. Unlike Amarone, for the production of Recioto, fermentation is stopped before all the sugars have turned into alcohol, so that the wine has a sweet, fruity flavor with hints of vanilla, as well as a very pronounced and unique aroma.

privilegia

ROSSO VERONESE IGT
Elegant red wine for aging, brilliant even uncorked 10 years after harvest. It is made from Corvina and Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested in our vineyards located in the hills of Marano, 350 meters above sea level. The vines are trained with the traditional Veronese pergola and are between 10 and 30 years old.
The well-defined aromatic character of this wine, spicy and with an aftertaste of ripe cherries, is determined by the slight drying process the grapes undergo before being crushed in November.

valpolicella ripasso

DOC CLASSICO SUPERIORE
Elegant dry red wine obtained with the traditional Ripasso technique, that is letting the young wine resulting from grapes pressed immediately after the harvest undergo a second fermentation on the Amarone skins.
This step increases the alcohol content of the future wine, ensuring that its organoleptic characteristics are perceived intact even when uncorking the bottle 8 years after the vintage. It is made from the typical Valpolicella grapes, Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, grown in our vineyards located at 350 meters above sea level in the hills of the Marano valley. The vines are trained with the traditional Veronese pergola and are between 10 and 30 years old.

valpolicella

DOC CLASSICO
It is the young and fresh face of Valpolicella because it is a ready-to-drink wine made from the typical grapes of the valley – Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara – crushed immediately after the harvest in October. It should be drunk within 2 years of production and is an excellent companion for charcuterie dishes, fresh pasta and grilled white meats. The grapes are harvested from our vines, planted between 10 and 30 years ago on the hills of the Marano valley, 350 meters above sea level, and trained with the traditional Veronese pergola. Part of the Valpolicella Classico is then used for the production of Valpolicella Ripasso.

Corte Lonardi is a small winery located in Marano, in the “green heart” of Valpolicella. Though the farm is quite young, its roots are immersed in the ancient rural and gastronomic history of the area.
The current owner, Silvia Lonardi, is the daughter of Giuseppe Lonardi, who founded this small winery and who, having grown up among the fields and tables of the family tavern, was able to reconcile his passion for wine with his passion for cooking. Restaurateurs were also Silvia’s grandfather, Aldo, and great-grandfather, Giuseppe, known as “the Bepi,” the first to translate the love of good food and toasts in company into business.

With this family passion, in the early 1980s Giuseppe began making wine, aided and abetted by his friend, winemaker Roberto Ferrarini. Today, the winery owns vineyards in Valpolicella Classica and produces quality wines typical of this valley, seeking, however, thanks to the grafting of fresh creative energy brought by the young daughter Silvia, to identify and then exalt new values present in the land of the Marano hills.
