Brunello di Montalcino docg
If you are Brunello di Montalcino lovers, the one produced by Poggio Lucina won’t disappoint your expectations, cause this wine was born with the ambition of representing the high quality winemaking tradition of Tuscany, evocating through your senses an image of a land that is suited to produce long living, important wines.
Everything begins in Tuscany, inside the province of Siena (Montalcino), between the vines of Poggio Lucina, when during the harvest ( rigorously hand made) its Sangiovese Grosso (Brunello) is selected for the first time on site and for the second time in the cellar, just before the process that will turn grapes into wine.
In the enveloping body of this Brunello di Montalcino D.o.c.g. we can taste tannins with a rude personality and sour notes. But everything is gently harmonised, sublimating the tradition of Montalcino together with the dedication of the Di Donato’s family.

Rosso di Montalcino doc
The colour intensity of the of this Rosso di Montalcino D.o.c. produced by Poggio Lucina is the first thing that we notice and also the most explicit. It’s a red that speaks about being young, vivacity and gentleness. A result of a round, structured Sangiovese featuring fresh aromas.
In this area of Tuscany, located in the South part of Siena, the Di Donato’s family produces a wine for each vineyard, and only after predicting how the wine will evolve, decides to enhance ist peculiarities blending all the wines in different proportions.
This selection also gives birth to the Rosso di Montalcino D.o.c. Poggio Lucina, which after the vilification ages in barrels, tonneaux or barriques for one year and then refines for 4 months in the bottle. This happens only after the blending method of the Di Donato’s family: they sit at the table and after all the wines are tasted they decide the exact proportion of each one to create a lively, fresh wine to fall in love with.
Poggio Lucina, the family-run Montalcino winery of the Di Donato brothers, has a long agricultural tradition today sublimated by the historic identity of Brunello, a wine linked to the territory of origin, which is accompanied by the innovation of a productive art nourished by the passion for this corner of Tuscany.
