il canneto

SANGIOVESE MAREMMA TOSCANA DOC
It is made from a blend of various clones of Sangiovese grapes grown in the Maremma hills. A highly prized grape variety that all ampelographers have dealt with, originating and cultivated throughout Tuscany, it is remarkably widespread in the Tuscan Maremma with numerous clones.
The hot arid climate of the Grosseto area, with few precipitations, acts as a limiting factor on production. This is a benefit for the quality of the grapes. Especially for Sangiovese grapes.

San giuseppe

MORELLINO DI SCANSANO
Podere San Giuseppe, an old stone farmhouse on Fattoria Mantellassi, gave its name to this selection of Morellino di Scansano DOCG. In January following the harvest, the best batches of Morellino, produced in the vintage, are selected and passed in small French oak barrels for about six months. After aging for several months in the bottle, the wine has excellent organoleptic characteristics: a fine and excellent vinous bouquet, smooth and balanced and a fresh and pleasant sensation in the taste.

maestrale

CILIEGIOLO MAREMMA TOSCANA DOC
Ciliegiolo is one of the most typical grape varieties of the Tuscan Maremma. It owes its name to the pleasant cherry notes that can be perceived in the scents, smooth taste, and bold, vibrant color. Fresh and pleasant but full-bodied, it is suitable for pairing with any simple traditional Tuscan dish.

lucumone

VERMENTINO MAREMMA TOSCANA DOC
Popular for its walls and monuments, Magliano in Toscana is a town that stretches across the hills of the Tuscan Maremma. Of particular interest is the city of Heba, an important testimony to the Etruscan civilization and its kings: the Lucumoni. Lucumone is a fresh, fruity wine made from white Vermentino grapes, with which the Mantellassi family wanted to remember the Etruscans, also as skilled winemakers.

masso bianco

MAREMMA TOSCANA DOC
White grapes from the oldest Maremma viticultural tradition are used to make Sasso Bianco.
This wine represents the evolution of Maremma farmhouse whites. Its fragrance, freshness, friendly taste and eclectic table pairings make this a popular wine.

The Mantellassi’s from Pistoia moved to the Scansano and Magliano area around 1860 where they practiced the profession of “potini” and “grafts”.
Always winemakers, in 1960 they began planting the first four hectares of vineyards in the Banditaccia area, up to the current one hundred. These extend over some of the many hills of the Farm, in tuffaceous-calcareous soils with an ampelographic base consisting mainly of the Sangiovese grape, then the Alicante, Cabernet Sauvignon, Morellino, Merlot, Canaiolo Nero, Malvasia Nera, Ciliegiolo, Vermentino Bianco vines , Sauvignon Bianco.

The Mantellassi Farm has contributed significantly to the establishment of the Controlled Designation of Origin of Morellino di Scansano in 1978 and is considered one of the most prestigious producers.
