QUALITY WINES

Amarone, Valpolicella Ripasso, Recioto, Valpolicella Classico and Privilegia are high-quality wines, produced blending tradition and innovative winemaking techniques. The aging in oak barrels, which are carefully chosen directly in the place of production, enhances the flavour profile of the well-structured and fragrant wines, which is unique and specific to each
Valpolicella winery.

VALPOLICELLA

Since the times of Retico and Acinatico, precious ancestors of Recioto and Amarone, Valpolicella wines have always been generous protagonists at the table, as generous as the land where they come from. A land with a mild and temperate climate, with soft green hills, geometrically designed by the rows of vines, made even more fertile by
the rich alluvial soil

amarone

VALPOLICELLA DOCG CLASSICO
An outstanding red meditation wine, exciting even when uncorked 15 years after the harvest. It is obtained from the typical grape varieties of Valpolicella – Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and a small percentage of Croatina – cultivated in our vineyards on the hills of Marano, 350 meters above sea level.
The vines are trained according to the traditional Veronese pergola and are between 10 and 30 years old. The specificity of Amarone lies in the 90 days long drying of the grapes before pressing, which allows it to stand the long aging and provides the unmistakable flavour profile with full, warm, velvety notes and hints of ripe fruit and woodland undergrowth.

amarone riserva

VALPOLICELLA DOCG CLASSICO
In the Reserve version we bottle only Amarone of the best vintages; 2012 is the next vintage we’ll send after a slow aging in barrels. Amarone is an outstanding red meditation wine, exciting even when uncorked 15 years after the harvest. recioto

VALPOLICELLA DOCG CLASSICO
An impressive sweet red wine of Verona tradition, which was used to be offered to guests on the most important occasions – weddings, births, visits – maybe with a slice of chocolate cake or a fruit tart. As Amarone, it is obtained from the typical grape varieties of Valpolicella – Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella – and a small percentage of Croatina, cultivated in our vineyards on the hills of Marano, 350 meters above sea level. The vines are trained according to the traditional Veronese pergola and are between 10 and 30 years old.
Also the grapes for the Recioto are dried before crushing, but for 100 days, that is until February, thus obtaining a wine which may preserve its organoleptic characteristics up to 15 years from harvest. The difference with Amarone lies in the interruption of the fermentation before all the sugars are converted into alcohol, so as to give the Recioto its sweet and fruity flavour, with notes of vanilla and a unique, intense bouquet.

privilegia

ROSSO VERONESE IGT
Elegant red wine for aging, stellar even when uncorked 10 years after the harvest. It is obtained from the grape varieties Corvina and Cabernet Franc, harvested in our vineyards on the hills of Marano di Valpolicella, 350 meters above sea level. The vines are trained according to the traditional Veronese pergola and are between 10 and 30 years old.
The well-defined aromatic character of this wine, spicy and with an aftertaste of ripe cherries, is determined by the slight drying process the grapes undergo before being crushed in November.

valpolicella ripasso

DOC CLASSICO SUPERIORE
Elegant dry red wine obtained with the traditional Ripasso technique, that is letting the young wine resulting from grapes pressed immediately after the harvest undergo a second fermentation on the Amarone skins.
This operation increases the alcohol content of the future wine, allowing to perceive all its organoleptic characteristics even when opening the bottle eight years after the harvest. It is made from the typical Valpolicella grapes Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara, cultivated in our vineyards located at 350 meters above sea level, on the hills of Marano. The vines are trained according to the traditional Veronese pergola and are between 10 and 30 years old.

valpolicella

DOC CLASSICO
It is the young, fresh expression of Valpolicella, because it is a wine ready to be enjoyed, obtained from the typical grapes of the valley – Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara – pressed in October immediately after the harvest. It should be drunk within 2 years of the vintage and it’s an excellent match with cold cuts, fresh pasta and grilled white meats. The grapes are harvested from our vineyards, planted between 10 and 30 years ago in the hills of Marano valley, 350 meters above sea level, and trained according to the traditional Veronese pergola. Part of the Valpolicella Classico is then used for the production of Valpolicella Ripasso.

Corte Lonardi is a small winery located in Marano, in the “green heart” of Valpolicella. Though the farm is quite young, its roots are immersed in the ancient rural and gastronomic history of the area.
The current owner of the winery is Silvia Lonardi, the daughter of its founder Giuseppe Lonardi who, growing up between the fields and the tables of the family owned tavern, was able to combine his passion for wine and cuisine. Silvia’s great-grandfather Giuseppe, nicknamed “il Bepi”, was the first to transform his love for good food and wine into a business by becoming a restaurateur, and her grandfather Aldo followed in his footsteps.

Sharing this passion with his family, in the early 80s Giuseppe began producing wine supported in this endeavor by his friend, the winemaker Roberto Ferrarini. In our days this farm produces high-quality wines which belong to the tradition of the Valpolicella region and endeavors to identify and enhance novel undiscovered values which lay in the soil of Marano hills, thanks to the fresh creative energy brought by the young daughter Silvia.
